2009-03-10 00:00:00
Use this guide to farm thorium ore without having to run around mindlessly searching for respawns. Look for half an hour in these three locations and find atleast 8-12 nodes. Eventhough this is a level 60 item, de...
Who
2009-03-10 00:00:00
All this talk of 3.1 we've been seeing lately is fantastic! Class and talent changes everywhere, dual-spec announcements (see? I told you!), it's all great stuff. For me, though, the big draw of 3.1 is -- read my lips -- one new dungeon! I know, I know, raids is raids, but I'm getting pretty tired of Naxx, and I want a nice long raid to sink my teeth into. New strats to learn! Setting a course through uncharted territory! Wiping because we don't know the fight yet! I'm just so excited. Of course, the one thing we haven't found out about Ulduar yet is who the heck we're killing for their purples! Being a reasonable man who reads his quest text, though, I've been able to divine the identities of a few personalities we're likely to encounter. The Ulduar screenshots from beta, with their diverse wings and amazing architecture, also hint to these same folks. They'll be involved, and I'll put good gold on it. Who's ready to rumble IN THE ANNOYINGLY TALL CORNER, HAILING FROM THE TEMPLE OF STORMS, JOINED BY HIS TRUSTY, SCALY STEED, GIVE IT UP FOOOORRRRR THORIM! That's right, folks. You've seen this dude, hangin' out at the Temple of Storms all depressed. But what's eating Big Blue? Well, his brother, Loke...
Why Is Gold So Important To The World Of Warcraft Game
2009-03-10 00:00:00
Wow Power leveling is mostly done by grinding and sometimes by simple questing. Cost varies depending on how much wow power leveling you want done. Wow power leveling have a panel of experts and professional gamers. Quest stacking here is also godly, since you don't want to have to run all the way to the northern end of the zone, do one or two quests and turn them back in at Booty Bay. Rebel Camp's quests are largely independent of the rest, though, so you can do those first. Quests though are a good way to get gold. The reason is that you can get some high level items that have a high value. Wow gold can be used to purchase a number of items, including weapons. These weapons are likely to help you in your quest to victory with the World of Warcraft. Players are placed in charge of their own ...
Why Your Druid Needs a Guide to Pvp
2009-03-10 00:00:00
Playing a Druid class character in World of Warcraft's PvP (Player versus Player) combat offers many opportunities, along with the potential for confusion and frustration. Druids are extremely tough to kill, and can resist many of the magical skills used by the opposition. With their ability to switch forms, heal, and even tank when necessary, they can play any role in PvP. Unfortunately for you, that very versatility makes Druids prime targets, and makes Druid PvP play very challenging. Paradoxically, the Druid's strength (his flexibility) can also be a disadvantage at first. Why...
Will dual specs eliminate the tank or healer shortage
2009-03-10 00:00:00
Reader Patrick commented recently that I was a doofus (well, no, he didn't actually say that but I sort of felt like one after he pointed out what I missed out on) and that I should mention how dual specs will eliminate the tank or healer shortage. With players who play classes that can tank or heal able to spec freely between either of the two, will this sufficiently eliminate the lack of healers or tanks for instances Even with the addition of a new tanking class, there are many occasions where players find themselves look...
Will Level For Cash
2009-03-10 00:00:00
Paid power-leveling: is it worth it In the January 6-8th installment of USA Weekend, the weekly gloss insert published in local newspapers nationwide, World of Warcraft didn't make the front cover or even the feature callout on the sidebar. That much was to be expected. Between parenting tips, pop star gossip and the NFL playoffs, MMO gaming is still small potatoes, culturally speaking. But imagine my surprise when, flipping through the pages over a bowl of cornflakes, I discovered a small story sandwiched between half- and full-page ads entitled: "Is It Cheating? Casual gamers pay to advance to higher levels." Paul Bond, writer for the Weekend, queried Rob Bartlett on the cool million his WoW power leveling service Power Gamers Matrix made for him last year. The article was somewhat of a letdown; Bond never explored the question asked in the headline, but simply scudded along the surface, measuring how much it costs to level a character to sixty (over $1,000) and how long it might take a gaming purist to "cap out" (18 days, playing 24/7). That got me to thinking... is paid power leveling cheating, or are the indulgent only cheating themselves Not to get all "bitter old man" on you, but I remember the d...
Will Warrior stance penalties finally go away
2009-03-10 00:00:00
This post from Ghostcrawler on a discussion of warriors in PvP and their current woes mentions that the devs are 'currently discussing' the penalties warriors have to go through to switch stances. It's no secret that I think stance penalties are an outmoded concept, especially as I've been leveling my two DK's (one horde, one alliance) and getting to play with DK presences. As is pointed out, warriors not only have the stance penalty itself to consider, they also face losing most of their rage when th...
Wintergrasp Busted & Server Crashes in 3.0.8 Live UPDATE!
2009-03-10 00:00:00
Update: Were actively investigating Wintergrasp impacting realm stability and were working to resolve these issues. If needed, we may temporarily disable the Battle for Wintergrasp on all realms. If this should happen, players will still be able to venture into the zone, but will not be able to participate in the Battle itself. We thank you for your patience as we work to address these issues. Wintergrasp is causing crashes. Well theres no confirmation as I am writing this ont he official forums by Blizzard but I expect them to bring down the servers for some emergency maintenance which sucks terribly. You can squeek in some gameplay during the battles but as soon as one factio...
Women and Raiding
2009-03-10 00:00:00
A lot of men are awful at WoW. So are a lot of women. As you read through the following article you may have a gut reaction to either wholeheartedly agree or wholeheartedly disagree; I would hope that -- in either case -- you catch the nuance of my arguments. This is a gender issue that deals with problematic relationships in raiding guilds; as such, the article does not give as much credit as it should to the genuine friendships and solid couples that are the foundation of many guilds. Understand I do not intend for extremity. You will find that I clarify twice that there is no realistic difference between men and women in gaming. I do not want to reinforce any view or tone that suggests this; as such, it becomes difficult to expand on the genuinely good aspects of both men and women and the non-gender issues that arise for everyone due to the context of this article. Bit of background. I grew up Mormon; this meant I was raised in a semi-segregated setting, as many other large church organizations are. There was a Young Men's and Young Women's organization. While Sunday School was mutual, many of our other activities and weeknight get-togethers were based on age group and sex. In Boy Scouts, I would ...
World Of Warcraft - Discover What Is So Fantastic About This Game
2009-03-10 00:00:00
World of Warcraft, also called WOW by gamers, is an online massively multiplayer role- playing game (MMORPG). Around twelve years back, Blizzard Entertainment developed a game called Warcraft, a single/multiplayer adventure game, which went on to become so immensely popular that they added two more Warcraft games, and World of Warcraft is the fourth game in the series. As on May 2006, World of Warcraft had over 6.5 million active users who were paying around $ 17 a month each to play it. That works to over 110 million dollars a month in subscriptions! How World Of Warcraft Works The World of Warcraft game takes place in a virtual gameworld called World of Azeroth. The storyline is fantasy-driven and like fantasies go there are many colorful and...
